On 6 May 2017 Tallinn Development and Training Centre (TDTC) organised a stand in the Brussels buildings of the European Union Regional Committee as part of the international Fair “Open Day” showcasing not only Tallinn but also Estonia. At the stand, TDTC representatives familiarised Tallinn to Brussels citizens and other visitors; including members of the European Parliament, EU officials and workers, and representatives of the other 35 participants at this event. TDTC showcased the best Tallinn had to offer including; free public transport, e-services, e-management, tourism and tourism development, cultural events and ongoing activities. In addition, TDTC shared to interested parties’ information material about Estonia’s better known small manufacturers; including Estonian diary producer Farmi’s choice of cheeses, Veinimõisnik’s bubbly Rurbarbwine, Tori Jõesuu Cider and Wine Farm’s Ecocider, Jaanihanso’s Ice Cider and Kalev Chocolate factory’s Tallinn and Tallinn City caramel sweets.
The programme which focused on small producers proved to be one of the most successful things on the stand and the event’s organisers reported that over 3000 fair visitors visited the Tallinn Info stand. European Union Regional Committee President Mr. Markku Markula also visited the stand and gave an interview to Tallinn TV.
